Upper Elementary Parents and Teachers,
Hello, and welcome to Undercover Bullying. I'm so glad you've stopped by!
My name is Olivia Albritton and I'm a sophomore at UGA. I created this website as a tool for upper elementary school students to gain hands-on, creative experiences in the realm of bully prevention. My goal is for students to critically evaluate their own words and actions on how they effect others. I hope they are able to determine when they've exemplified traits of a bully and a victim in their daily lives and how they can change that behavior for the better. I also hope to create a healthy learning environment where the students are the teachers themselves.
According to the NETS Standards, the website follows Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making: Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.
Students:
a. Identify and define authentic problems and significant questions for investigation.
b. Plan and manage activities to develop a solution or complete a project.
c. Collect and analyze data to identify solutions and/or make informed decisions.
d. Use multiple processes and diverse perspectives to explore alternative solutions.
Here are some necessary tips you'll need to help your kids succeed in this learning adventure:
1. For Activity #1 you will need to create a classroom Edmodo account. This is safe a secure website where teachers and students can interact and collaborate. Encourage students to give constructive criticism or encouragement as they respond to each other on Edmodo. Make this a learning experience and not just busy work.

Here are some necessary tips you'll need to help your kids succeed in this learning adventure:
- Homepage activity: When you click on the "Try it Out" link, a new window will open displaying filigrid.com. After using the password "undercoverbullying", you will see two separate questions that I have posted. To respond, click on each question and follow the steps to record your responses. This will be a video and audio response. You will be able to view other student's response videos, however you cannot respond to their videos directly. We will respond in our next activity.
1. For Activity #1 you will need to create a classroom Edmodo account. This is safe a secure website where teachers and students can interact and collaborate. Encourage students to give constructive criticism or encouragement as they respond to each other on Edmodo. Make this a learning experience and not just busy work.
2. For Activity #2, your students will need to use iMovie trailer. They can either download the iMovie trailer app on a macbook or iPad. From there, students will be able to pick which template they would like to use and follow further instructions to create their trailer. The students should divide into groups and discuss exactly what they want their movie trailer to be about. They are encouraged to act out scenarios between a bully and a victim with other peers possibly intervening. They can solely focus on negative bully/victim interaction, or positive bully/victim interaction. They could also add positive/negative peer intervention as well.
3. Show What You Know: In order for students to earn their bullying "certificate", I would like for them to post their new movie trailer onto the same Edmodo account as you created before and send it to my account, "Olivia Albritton". I can't wait to see what your students create!
