Bullying is a growing epidemic in upper elementary schools. Luckily, much awareness has been surfacing in public and private schools in order to alleviate this problem. This website is simply an extended resource for students to gain experience dealing with bullying whether personally or collaboratively. Let's continue on this journey to protect the safety of our students!
Activities:
1. After responding to the questions on Flipgrid (homepage), it's time to create healthy conversations through Edmodo about bully prevention. Log on to your teachers Edmodo account (teachers/parent letter) and post some of your favorite responses made by you or your classmates. Respond to other students' posts. What do you like or dislike about their response to the questions? How could they improve? Create healthy conversations through Edmodo about bully prevention.
2. After posting to Edmodo, create a short, 30 second video using iMovie Trailer. In your video, create and perform a dialogue between a bully and a victim. You can choose to show either a healthy or unhealthy bully response. Show the negative effects of bullying on both the victim and the bully. Feel free to incorporate more than one bully or victim. Here is an example of a video I made using iMovie trailer about group projects. It took me 20 minutes to create this 1 minute video, so your 30 second video should only take 10!
